Immune Control was founded on the novel observation that the critically important neurotransmitter, serotonin, is essential for the growth of immune cells. When serotonin receptors on dividing immune cells are blocked, the cells die. This has been verified in the laboratory with normal human lymphocytes that have been stimulated to divide, in animals, and with lymphocytes taken from patients with multiple myeloma. Target markets include autoimmune diseases, transplant rejection, and some hematologic cancers. Immune Control Inc. is an early-stage drug discovery and development company testing novel approaches to immune modulation using small molecule, serotonin ( www.immunecontrol.com )
